Civilization has seen signs of bed bugs for centuries
According to bedbugs.org, these pesky little creatures likely originated from caves in the Middle East, where they were happily feeding off of bats before finding humans. While they spread through the centuries throughout Europe, it wasn’t until the early colonists to the Americas that bed bugs hopped onto our shores. By the 1800s, bed bugs piggy-backed the many European settlers traveling for a new way of life. And, their existence was just a fact of life for many, rich and poor. In fact, when grandma tells you to “don’t let the bed bugs bite,” before bedtime, it used to be a daily truth. It seems there was no effective solution on how to prevent bed bugs.

By the early 20th Century, surveys then found that almost a third of all homes in the cities were infested. Only vigorous and constant cleaning seemed to be successful in keep the creatures at bay. Often, people would complain they had “no signs of bed bugs but I had bites.” But these little guys are hardy, prolific breeders, and they have made a resurgence through the years.
Professionals are your best option for bed bug identification and riddance
If you think you have a problem and are looking for early signs of bed bugs, it may be hard to find evidence on your own. Most people think the best ways are to find signs of bed bugs on mattresses. First, you need help in identifying the type of bug, as there are similar bugs that can be around the home and can be mistaken for other bugs. Our team of professionals will look for bed bug nests. This is key to eliminating the problem, and it may take up to three or, in more severe cases, more services spread roughly two weeks apart to ensure they are gone.
Our customers consistently leave us five-star reviews for our inspectors’ professionalism and service, such as this one:
“Had a bed bug scare recently and my company worked with Northern Colorado Pest and Wildlife Control to get me an inspection. The person who I emailed with was quick to respond and helpful. The two inspectors that came out were very friendly and loved all the animals I have in my home. They wore their masks the whole time and were very thorough when checking each room. They were happy to say Ii didn’t have any bed bugs and said if it was just one that putting my bedding through the dryer would for sure get rid of it. Very thankful for the peace of mind!” Coneda Weatherly
